these past few months I've learned way more about Pokémon gold and silver than I care to acknowledge.
first of all none of the apricorn balls work as intended except the Lure Ball.
the Fast Ball is meant to check three tables of Pokémon that have a chance to flee from battle, but instead it only checks the first three Pokémon in the first table, so it only works better on Magnemite, Grimer and Tangela.
the Moon Ball is meant to work better on Pokémon that evolve with a Moon Stone but instead it works better on Pokémon that evolve with a Burn Heal. and no such Pokémon exists.
the Love Ball works better on Pokémon that are the same gender as yours instead of the opposite.
in crystal version, Kadabra, Tauros and Sunflora incorrectly get the best possible bonus from the Heavy Ball. (gold and silver don't have this bug)
the Level Ball ignores HP and status when calculating the catch rate.
poison, burn and paralysis don't work as intended either. and by "don't work as intended" i mean they literally don't affect the catch rate at all. sleep and freezing are fine though.
